Today was the park day that Tyler has been waiting for all summer....The Reptile Show! Scott, the Reptile Man, has a zoo in Monroe and has bred, raised and de-venomized all of his reptiles. I must admit I am extremely afraid of most reptiles, especially snakes, but I was far enough from the stage to think that this show was pretty fascinating!
Cobra
Tyler's favorite was this Monkey Lizard
I believe this was a venomous lizard
Ewwwww
He made this alligator pass out by pushing on his eyes...weird!
Rattlesnake - We got to hear the rattle. Did you know rattlesnakes only will strike half of their body length? Moral....stay at least half of their body length away from them to be safe :0)
Tortoise - Did you know that you could drive your car over this guy and not break his shell?
Morgan, Tyler and his good friend Brady
The sound of a Viper....

That alligator is smiling! :)
We wanted to go to that today. Reptile Man did a show at Ethan's school a few years ago and we loved it. But we were showing the house this afternoon so of course manic cleaning was going on over here...
We saw the reptile man four years ago at Pioneer Park. Way cool. From a distance...
we saw a reptile guy @ Emerald Downs last Labor Day of all places:) wish i would've known another one was down @ the park today-oh well! what a good mom you are to brave it! have you ever been up to the reptile zoo in monroe? i'm gonna call & see if it has regular hours or just for parties per the ad:) glad to find your blog since we won't get to bond as much without preschool:(
Yikes...you are brave to get close enough to take the pictures. Sounds like it was fascinating. And Tyler looked like he really enjoyed it. Wonder if that guy has ever been bitten? Scary.
