Science Fair

*Warning* I claim bragging rights for this post!!! This last week was science fair. Typically the 4th-6th graders have to do a big project every year where they come up with a testable question and do an experiment that is ultimately judged at the science fair. It's mostly a home project and takes a few weeks and much patience to complete. Tyler got to do a project this year since he is in a 3/4 co-op class. He has an awesome teacher who had the kids do 90% of the work on their own in class so that they could truly call the work their own and learn more. Tyler chose to see if "Changing the wing shape on a paper airplane would affect how far the plane would travel". He's been working for 2-3 hours a day on this project for weeks now and has learned how to do all sorts of things on a computer. We finally got to see the finished projects on Thursday night at the science fair and were SOOOO impressed and proud of Tyler's! I have to brag that he did an awesome job and we were very impressed with his work. He got the highest score in his class and recieved a "science award" from the judges. The exciting part is that he is 1 of only 15 projects in the school that were choosen to go to the Puyallup Fair for display this Spring. Congratulations Tyler! You worked really hard and it paid off! We're so proud of you little buddy!

I was there to see it in person and was so excited to see that Science Award on your project. Not many 3rd graders compete and win against the 4th/5th/6th graders. WOW...Congratulations super grandson and good luck at the Puyallup Fair. I'm sure you'll win there too. And thanks for inviting me!!!
(p.s. the Safety Statement was my favorite part!)
