My mother-in-law, Joann, was inducted into the WA State Athletic Hall of Fame last night. We attended a dinner and awards presentation for her and then afterwards went to a high school basketball game where she was honored again at half time. Joann was Federal Way HS's first girl's soccer coach and established a record of 141 wins with only 11 losses in 10 years. Her team was ranked number one in the U.S. in 1989 and came in third in the nation in 1990. The girls that played soccer for Joann showed up in support and some even flew in from out of state to surprise her. It was fun to learn about her teaching/coaching career and an honor to celebrate her accomplishments with her!
